Finally...I can begin to tell the story

Joplin was horrible...it has taken me over a week to come to grips with everything that has happened. Of course what I am experiencing is NOTHING compared to the persons of Joplin...I feel guilty for even expressing my angst...I honestly could not process or edit any of the footage until now...it was simply too painful to view. The sadness of persons whom I had hoped would survive and then to find out they had not made it. But my God I witnessed such strength from survivors!!! It is totally unfathomable what they went through and then to see everyone pull themselves from the rubble and take little notice of their own condition and begin the search for their neighbors...Witnessing this was a true testament to the human spirit...But the cries for help...both near and far....the man who collapsed in front of me as he found out that many fatalities were up ahead as he walked to find his daughter, the man on the curb who appeared out of nowhere, white as a sheet and blood streaming from his right ear...all I could do was wrap a clean dry blanket around him and place my hand on his shoulder and quietly say you are going to be alright. The little white terrier whose hair was covered in gravel, mud and blood...the little girl in her fathers arms, shaking in fear uncontrollably. The sight of my husband after an hour or more of being gone with blood on his shirt and breaking down crying....I cannot begin to see an end to this story...it will be one that is told over and over...added to for months to come. And in all of this, I promise there is hope....I saw it everywhere in the midst of the anguish...a survivor told me “all we have is the present, the here and now, the past is gone, all we have is to look forward” ....God Bless Joplin

Jeff has been on the phone most of the late afternoon and evening with our friends in Alabama, our friends who have families in Alabama and our contact who is storm chasing in Alabama. It is horrific...the devastation the state of Alabama is experiencing. I am praying for everyone...I love you much! Shelly if you see this please call me...I am so concerned about you.

Fall is approaching and looking back on last winter

Found this peaceful video clip from our TwisterChasers Live Cam,,,should just call it house cam. Our streaming live this year was less than eventful. Just too much going on when we are out chasing and having adequate data when we are in the “thick” of it, so to speak. With technology advancing at the speed of light...I am excited for what next year will bring...but for now...just reflecting and thinking about winter and snow :)
