I began taking photographs at age 22 when a friend loaned me their Pentax SLR, and I won first place at Rogers County Fair...a photograph of a windmill against an Oklahoma Sunset....I was hooked. I would get up well before the sunrise driving around to look for my next shot, once, composing the shot meant climbing to the top of a grain silo and shooting down through light fog at calves feeding in a line at the feeders. Then for the last shot before sunrise I ran about a quarter of a mile through a field strewn with yellow flowers and captured the sun just as it peeked over the horizon...i was elated and began running back to my car...tripped, fell and the camera flew open exposing the film. Fast forward....Thank God today for Digital and Backups! My father gave me my first “Real Camera” in 1990 a Nikon AF3-AF. He also had a passion for photography that he began much later in life and he was disappointed when he could no longer hold the camera “steady” and gave it to me...I was shocked and humbled. And so began my journey through the lens...
In loving rememberance of my father Willis Roger Reames 1930-1997
