APRIL 29, 2009 This tornadic supercell developed near Plainview, TX.  Jeff Piotrowski and Terry Schenk drove right under the rope like spinning sidewinder that Texas is famous for.  The storm system intensified and dropped down numerous tornadoes...Terry best summed up the day at the end of the video clip.   Clip`Action/StormChasing/Tornadoes

In the spring of 1998, near the town of Wakita, Oklahoma I observed my first tornado, through the viewfinder of a Sony VX1000.  I pulled away from the camera and watched, mesmerized by the deep red Oklahoma dirt being pulled up to the sky.  The tornado sounded like thousands upon thousands of low whispering voices.   And then...another tornado dropped down about 600 yards from the first one.  The whispering sound turned to a distinct roar as the tornadoes grew in intensity, and I watched as powerlines whipped violently back and forth from the force of both tornadoes.  The lines then started snapping, bringing the poles down one by one.   On that day, I saw 12 tornadoes...and that was the beginning of the passion that drives me to this day.
