We began our chase in Wakeeney, KS where we had stayed at the Best Western.  Lots and lots of  storm chasers there, before the night was over all rooms were taken.  Our trip to our target zone took us through Dodge City, KS where the DDC NWS is located (photo below).

One of the reasons I love to storm chase so much, is the fun, unique and interesting things you see along the way.  This guy. straight from The Wizard of Oz is looking South, for storms, no doubt..

We found this field of Prairie dogs.

Then storms began to develop near Laverne, OK.

We followed this cell and it became disorganized and linear so we peeled off and headed for another tornado warned storm near Lipscomb, TX
