It is human nature to glance at the sky, but only a few will stare and be lost in wonder! "
My name is Terry Schenk and my love of the sky and all the adventure it holds began at a young age. Rather than waning as the years passed, as most childhood fascinations often do, my passion for weather, in all its complexities, burgeoned. As such, I became a meteorologist, a Certified Emergency Manager, a college adjunct professor of meteorology and emergency management and a passionate, veteran stormchaser. I have experienced majestic storms, been in hail cores as they dropped hailstones that looked like small meteors, stalked thunderstorms, hunted tornadoes, observed beautiful cloud formations, and have seen lightning dance across the sky, uninterrupted. I believe that life rewards action, that it is either a daring adventure, or nothing, and have lived “the chasing adventure.” I invite you to join us.
Having chased with Kathryn and Jeff for almost 20 years, I can guarantee it is an experience unlike any other, and one you will not soon nor easily forget. Anyone who has met Jeff, knows how contagious his enthusiasm is and how more exciting the chase becomes when he is leading the pack. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, leaving most so exhilarated, that once will never be enough. It is an opportunity to explore some of the most stunning countryside America has to offer, the Great Plains of the United States, including the ranchlands of Texas, the rippling wheat fields of Kansas, Colorado’s jaw dropping peaks, and the winding, desolate roads of Nebraska. It is a chance to break routine, to escape the ordinary, and live free and wild for a time in the face of creation’s most awesome array of weather. With my 30 plus years of emergency services experience, I am committed to keeping my fellow chasers safe while still enjoying every thrill the chase has to offer. It’s about staying connected to the present, enjoying each moment as it comes, be it standing by the roadside as the wind whips across your face, or those heart-pumping minutes when a tornado touches down to earth just ahead of us. I invite you to step out of the everyday and into a story you’ll tell for years to come. Life passes quickly. Don’t let it pass by untouched. It’s time to stop watching and start chasing! |
